Pitching Your Project and YOU! Part 1 – Entertainment WIE

2 septiembre, 2022 – 5:30 pm - 7:30 pm

Part 1 of 2

Have you ever wondered what it was like to pitch a project? Have you left a «pitching workshop» feeling the advice was too overwhelming? Then, this webinar may be for you. Part 1 webinar will break down the process of pitching into the following areas… Are there different types of pitches? How to pitch different levels of executives by focusing on what YOU bring to the project. What is the real goal of a pitch? You might think it is to sell a particular project. It is actually not that at all — it is to create a new relationship that may lead to future work and further meetings. Do I pitch differently as a writer and as an independent producer? Definitely! This webinar will explain some of the differences — as well as give advice on the initial steps to set yourself up as an indie producer. Includes a homework assignment to create your own pitch! In the part 2 session, you’ll practice those pitches.

Part 2 of 2

As a follow-up to understanding what the pitching process is really all about, now take «pitching to the next level» by having YOU practice YOUR pitch. Dan Watanabe has been a development executive for over thirty years and has heard thousands of pitches. He will give you advice on some of the strategies you can use during the pitch to make it even more effective! This is a very user-friendly workshop, and we are gentle with our suggestions. Whether you prepare a formal pitch or decide to «wing it,» you will get to experience what pitching an executive is really like.

If you are located in Los Angeles County, Orange County, or the Eastern part of Ventura County, you may also receive free business development consultations. Visit www.new-wbc.org.
