From Immigrant to Mentor: A Story of Perseverance and Success

Carlos Cea arrived in California in 2019 with a clear and unshakable vision: to turn the business experience he’d built in his home country into his greatest strength. His drive to become an entrepreneur was rooted in a deep desire for financial independence and a commitment to put his knowledge at the service of his community. But the first steps brought monumental challenges—navigating unfamiliar laws, managing complex paperwork, overcoming the language barrier, and building capital from the ground up. Rather than let those obstacles stop him, Carlos studied English intensively, searched for an accessible business model, and earned his certification as an insurance agent.
Carlos launched his business on his own just before the pandemic—and just as he took that leap, he faced his hardest test yet: with no family network or contacts in the city, the global pandemic hit. As the traditional market ground to a halt, he turned adversity into opportunity, accelerating the digitization of his services and rolling out innovative online strategies to reach his first clients. The real turning point came when Carlos connected with the Women’s Business Center at New Economics for Women. One transformative question redefined his path: What business do you really want to start? From there, the strategic support from the NEW WBC team was hands-on and sustained. Together they began the process of forming his LLC and shaped a business plan through the DreamBuilder program, then mapped out how to start growing his client base. The team guided him in building his website, explored how to put AI to work in his business, and helped him launch a digital marketing plan. He also received advising on licenses and permits. The Verizon Digital Ready and Verizon Skill courses he completed proved especially valuable along the way.
With that support, Carlos officially registered CEA Solución and put a solid, scalable business plan into action—building a comprehensive offering through his platform, ceasolucion.com, and adapting nimbly to a shifting market.
What began as a one-man project has grown into more than 1,500 Latino clients served, educated, and protected. For Carlos, knowing that his daily work safeguards families’ livelihoods in their own language is the greatest reward of all.
That same calling is what drives him to serve as a speaker at the New Economics for Women Business Center, where he shares tools on sales strategy, pricing, and business models. As a mentor in his industry, he has also had the privilege of guiding and training more than 14 professionals as they launch successful careers of their own.
His message to every Latino entrepreneur just starting out is unequivocal: believe in your knowledge, act with unwavering integrity, and remember that continuous learning and relentless perseverance are the only tools that guarantee success.
