Hyperion Academics: A Digital Breakthrough with Verizon’s Digital Ready

Last Updated: June 8th, 2025By Categories: Uncategorized1.3 min read

When Lisa Henschol founded Hyperion Academics to serve students who do not thrive in traditional classrooms, she struggled to build an online presence on top of her teaching duties. Lesson planning and virtual classrooms left little room for live webinars, so Hyperion Academics remained largely invisible to families and educational partners.

Through the NEW Women’s Business Center, Lisa discovered Verizon’s Digital Ready Small Business program and completed bite-sized, on-demand courses such as “Navigating Online Loans” and “Digital Communications Strategy.” The flexibility allowed her to pause lessons during parent teacher conferences and resume later, which eliminated scheduling conflicts and turned digital marketing from an overwhelming task into a manageable process.

With new skills in hand, Lisa overhauled her LinkedIn profile updating her headline, summary, and post frequency to highlight Hyperion Academics’ mission. She applied targeted hashtags and SEO strategies to her social media accounts, transforming sporadic posts into a deliberate outreach plan. Within days, she received connection requests from local school districts and an educational foundation featured Hyperion Academics in its newsletter. Prospective families began reaching out directly, and institutional partnerships that had once seemed out of reach became attainable.

Beyond immediate visibility gains, Lisa adopted a lean-testing mindset: she now prototypes ideas, measures engagement, and adjusts before making significant investments. This forward-thinking approach ensures that every digital decision is validated, allowing Hyperion Academics to scale sustainably. “Now,” Lisa reflects, “I feel empowered to innovate continuously, knowing each step is backed by data and guided by Verizon’s Digital Ready program.
