LA Welcomes NEW Women’s Business Center Fashion Expo
LOS ANGELES, CA – November 5, 2021- New Economics for Women – Women’s Business Center (NEW-WBC), is hosting tomorrow a Hybrid Fashion Expo, in person and virtually on Zoom. The expo will showcase products produced by dozens women-owned small businesses, micro manufacturers, independent designers, and start-ups.
“The NEW-WBC’s Fashion Expo is a grassroots-driven event that showcases the hidden but widespread talent found in our communities bringing together beautiful designs, entrepreneurial drive and diversity of taste all in one venue. We do not have the production budgets of the large commercial fashion shows in Paris and New York, but we certainly make up for it in product quality and heart,” said Maria Rangel, NEW-WBC Fashion Program Manager.
This first hybrid (in person and virtual) expo will exhibit work from local dozens independent apparel and jewelry designers and artisans, on the runway. These small business owners are beneficiaries of the NEW-WBC, a non-profit initiative that helps (mostly) women of color; plan, start, create a business. NEW-WBC does not charge for its services.
“Our Fashion Industry program attracts entrepreneurs with a keen eye for aesthetics, a spirit full of swag and large-sized motivation. While sometimes running small on formal business training. It is events like these that allow us to continue to help fulfill extra-large sized dreams,” said Ruth Garcia-Corrales, NEW-WBC Director.
The event provides entrepreneurs, NEW-WBC clients, the opportunity to network, show, and sell their products right before the Holiday season. For the public, it provides a fun event to admire great creative colorful designs, conceived locally, while supporting small entrepreneurs. The Hybrid Fashion Expo is held twice a year and attracts hundreds of attendees.
NEW-WBC invites the community to join this Hybrid Fashion Expo. There is no charge to attend the event.
