GO-Biz Now Accepting Applications for California Competes Tax Credits

GO-Biz is now accepting applications for the California Competes Tax Credit (CCTC). There are $120 million in tax credits available during this application period for businesses that are expanding and adding quality, full-time jobs in California that might not otherwise be created by the business or any other business. The deadline to submit applications is Monday, January 23, at 11:59 p.m. (Pacific Time) and the online application website will automatically close once this deadline has passed. New Online Resource Page Available for Upcoming February CHIPS Solicitation

In 2022, President Biden signed into law the CHIPS and Science Act of 2022 which provides the Department of Commerce with $50 billion for a suite of programs to strengthen and revitalize the U.S. position in semiconductor research, development, and manufacturing – while also investing in American workers.The GO-Biz team has launched a resource page ahead of the upcoming CHIPS for America solicitation to provide details on available state programs, data, updates, and news on all things CHIPS.

CalOSBA’s California Venues Grant Program Opens New Round of Funding for Live Event Venues Impacted by COVID-19

Last month, the California Office of the Small Business Advocate (CalOSBA) announced a second round of nearly $45 million in new funding for the California Venues Grant Program. The program provides grants to eligible independent live events venues whose revenues were impacted by COVID-19 in 2020.

The first round of the California Venues Grant Program distributed more than $111.5 million in the fall of 2021 to nearly 830 eligible independent live events venues, including more than 150 women-owned businesses and 587 small businesses in low-income areas.· Please visit cavenuesgrant.com for more information.
