Key Note Speaker
Joan Webb


A film producer, virtual production producer and president of Roninfilm. Webb started her career in national
television advertising representing Oscar winning directors for commercials.
With VC capital, she built the first professional ProTools facility, and added Margarita Mix de Santa Monica to their roster of facilities in 1999, creating
the largest, privately-held, post audio facility. Webb brings extensive experience in
business development, VC backing, representation and marketing. Her former clients include such notable figures as James Cameron, Oliver Stone, Doug Trumbull, Tim Burton, Coen Brothers, companies such as: IMAX, Pixar, Sony, DreamWorks, MGM, Disney and feature films: Shrek I, II & III; Toy Story; Lion King; and The Amazing Spider-Man.

Malia Jakus


A filmmaker, educator, and founder of Next Up Films, a production company that strives to change the narrative by
supporting young storytellers from diverse backgrounds. While obtaining her M.F.A. in Motion Pictures and Television at the Academy of Art University in
San Francisco, she wrote several short films and was the head writer/showrunner
for a six-episode web series. She has received several innovations in teaching awards, grants, and was recognized as the Best of the Best in the film writing category in San Francisco in 2018. She currently teaches filmmaking in
the Pacific Palisades and recently finished a five-episode web series titled Calculated Risk. The cast and crew consisted of mostly first-time young
filmmakers under the age of 18 and are now entering the film festival circuit.

Shequeta L. Smith 


Shequeta L. Smith is a Salisbury, North Carolina, native and alumna of North Carolina State University. She began her career in entertainment as a College Representative for Def Jam/Roc-A-Fella Records. Smith launched the multimedia company Shero Comics, which focuses on minority women in comics, films, and gaming – with the mission to help minority women and girls uncover their superpowers.  In 2019, Smith partnered with Westfield Corporation and launched the only all-female comic convention in America, SheroCon, making history as the first comic-con to ever take place inside a Westfield property. she is currently developing her award-winning graphic novel, Rayven Choi, into a mobile game.




Nare Mkrtchyan


Born in Armenia and raised in Los Angeles, Naré Mkrtchyan. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Film Production from the prestigious University of Southern California School of Cinematic Arts. She has written, directed and produced over sixty projects, including documentaries, narrative films, shorts and series.For years she was an Executive Producer and Director at Hallmark Movies Now and produced for such platforms as Netflix and Quibi. Her documentary The Other Side of Home remains the only Armenian Genocide film to be shortlisted for Oscar. 




Klaudia Kovacs


Klaudia Kovács is a multi-award-winning Hollywood Film & Theater Director and a former Oscar contender in “Best Documentary.” As an immigrant and dual citizen, she brings together European sensibilities and American business savvy. So far she has garnered a total of 37 awards/accolades. Her Cold War movie, TORN FROM THE FLAG, was invited to the United States Congress and was entered into the Congressional Record. Klaudia has crowdfunded most of her projects and people refer to her as The Crowdfunding Queen. Her latest short, BROWN PAPER BAG, won “Best Directing” in Cannes at the International Cell Phone Cinema Showcase




Belle Johnson


Currently touring with hit dance duo La Bouche ( Be My Lover & Sweet Dreams) previously with Kanye West and the Masterful Sunday Service Choir, Belle is celebrated for her boundless vocal range and countless commissioned collaborations. Her multitudinous music capabilities have casted her on stage alongside a myriad of industry giants namely JLO’s Dance Again world tour/HBO special, The Bangerz world tour with Miley Cyrus, X Tina Aguilera Back-to-Basics tour with Christina Aguilera, George Duke, Eric Bent, and “Tony award winning singer Idina Menzel.
