On Saturday, January 25, 2025, Frost Equity Initiative, a nonprofit dedicated to promoting STEM (science, technology, engineering, art, and mathematics) education, successfully piloted its first robotics club at the NEW Women’s Business Center in Reseda. This milestone event marked an exciting step forward in the organization’s mission to make STEAM (science, technology, engineering, art, and mathematics) education more accessible to local youth.

During the session, students as young as six had the opportunity to engage in hands-on learning by exploring basic physics concepts and developing simple programs through block-style coding. The young participants also test-drove a range of newly acquired devices and robots, generously funded through individual donations and grants. This immersive experience not only introduced students to foundational STEM skills but also sparked their curiosity and creativity in a fun, interactive environment.

The event was offered free of charge to valley-area youth, with eleven enthusiastic students attending alongside their parents. It served as a valuable opportunity for Frost Equity Initiative to fine-tune its curriculum and programming in preparation for a broader rollout of robotics clubs in local schools this spring.

Ronnie Frost, Executive Director of Frost Equity Initiative, expressed his gratitude to the NEW Women’s Business Center for its generous support and partnership. “We are incredibly thankful to the NEW Women’s Business Center for providing their space and being such a wonderful community partner. Their support plays a crucial role in helping us reach more students and foster a love of STEAM at an early age,” said Frost.

As Frost Equity Initiative continues to grow, events like this help build momentum toward their overarching goal of empowering underrepresented youth through meaningful, hands-on STEAM education.
