In 2019, Gloria Roque and her daughter Jennifer opened their first men’s suit store Three Minute Suits, at the South Gate Galleria,. Jennifer brought 16 years of experience from working in her father’s store, where she learned every aspect of the business. With Gloria’s savings, the two women decided to launch a store of their own—and that first year was a resounding success.
Then, in 2020, the pandemic arrived and the mall closed its doors. Though their customers remained loyal, the road ahead was uncertain. In 2022, Gloria and Jennifer secured a new location in Montebello, where their store, Three Minutes Suits, operates to this day.
Those early years brought health challenges and financial hardship, but the mother-daughter team persevered, staying afloat and steadily growing the business. Today, in 2026, Gloria has decided to open her second store—driven by a clear vision: to one day own three stores, one for each of her children.
Gloria came to New Economics for Women (NEW) because she needed to complete the permits and licenses for her second location. Referred to the Women’s Business Center by a friend, she received hands-on support to complete her DBA and her BTRC (City of Los Angeles Business Tax Registration Certificate), ensuring everything was formally registered, and to open a business bank account for her new store. On May 5th, her new store was officially registered.
This Friday, July 31st, the WBC is proud to support Gloria and Jennifer in celebrating the official grand opening of their second store Last Minute Suits – an event that will bring together representatives from the California State Senate and Assembly, along with the directors of NEW.
From a single store to a growing family legacy, Gloria and Jennifer’s journey is a testament to resilience, vision, and the power of a mother’s dream for her children.
